Center for Magnetic Resonance and the HYPERMAG Center of Excellence were open to the public on 26 April 2016 as part of ‘Forskningens Døgn’, the annual Danish science festival.

In the course of three hours 70+ people took the journey from magnetism over cell biology and metabolism to MR imaging; performing experiments with our researchers on magnetic field lines, induction of magnetic currents, superconductors, cells types, metabolism and yeast as a model system for human cells.

Lots of young future scientists showed up and especially enjoyed our farting yeast, playing with magnetic fluid blobs and getting a head scan in a mock MR scanner built from cardboard boxes for the occasion.

Thank you to our guests for all your great questions and curiousity. And to our PhD students for making a special effort to show people how and why our group does research in the fields of MR method development, MRI/ and neuroimaging, hyperpolarization methodology and applications.

The Center for Magnetic Resonance open house was one of six events at DTU Elektro, all part of DTU's contribution to the 2016 national Science Festival called 'Forskningens Døgn'.
