On 7 October 2015 we celebrated the official opening of our HYPERMAG center of excellence.
First speaker of the day was Professor Liselotte Højgaard, Chairman of the Board of the Danish National Research Foundation. Professor Højgaard told the audience that HYPERMAG fulfills all of the Board's three main criteria - a new, brilliant and potentially game changing frontier research idea, a Center Leader with personal drive and an proven track record in research and research collaborations, and an excellent research group to build on. She wished the center good luck in its endeavours and advised Center Leader Jan Henrik Ardenkjær-Larsen to promptly buy an excellent coffee machine to serve as a focal point and strengthen the creative collaborations in our very interdisciplinary center.
Other speakers were President of Technical University of Denmark, Anders Bjarklev, DTU Elektro Department Director Kristian Stubkjær and Center Leader Jan Henrik Ardenkjær-Larsen. Managing Director of GE Healthcare, Jonathan Murray, who has had a long-standing collaboration with Professor Ardenkjær-Larsen, concluded with a talk on the high potential of the hyperpolarization technology in research and innovation.
The opening ended with a reception, well-attended by colleagues and collaboration partners.
