Fluidics for Hyperpolarized Metabolic Magnetic Resonance

Sotirios Katsikis

Research focus
The overall objective of this project is the development of a robust sample transfer system between dDNP polarizer and NMR equipment.

The ambition is to be able to reproducibly conduct metabolite identification experiments and to conduct tracer studies in cell suspension to ensure fast, automated and efficient transfer and mixing of cells with hyperpolarized substrates.

At HYPERMAG, Sotirios will mainly work on the development of a robust sample transfer system between our dissolution DNP polarizers and NMR equipment to ensure fast and automated transfer and mixing of cells with hyperpolarized substrates.

Perspective
Hyperpolarized magnetic resonance can be used to gain insight into metabolic pathways under various conditions, contributing to reaching new vistas in the field of biochemistry.
